Minimum Requirements:
- 3.0 H.S. GPA and 18 ACT/870 SAT
- File a FAFSA by March 1, 2013 and show Pell Grant eligibility
- High School graduating class of 2013

The Blue and Gold Scholar Award recognizes students from Ohio and Monroe County, Michigan and is a four year, renewable scholarship.
You are automatically considered for this scholarship with the completed and signed UT application for admission, official high school transcripts, official ACT and/or SAT scores, and a filed FAFSA by March 1, 2013.
Home schooled students are eligible for this scholarship with a 3.0 GPA and a 23 ACT by the time of graduation.
Goals of the Blue and Gold Scholar Award
- Reinforce the concept that college is a reality, not a dream, and remove some of the financial barriers to a college degree.
- Help parents, students, and school officials to create a learning environment to prepare students for the rigors of college.
- Improve high school persistence and graduation rates
Renewal Criteria
- The academic year begins with the summer semester and ends with the spring semester. Annual review for renewal will be at the end of each spring term, unless placed on a term by term review.
- A Scholarship Appeal is required if the student has less than a 3.0 cumulative GPA and/or earns less than 30 UT credit hours during the annual assessment period, which includes two semesters out of the academic year.
- Students on an approved co-op/internship during two semesters of the academic year are required to maintain a 3.0 cumulative GPA and earn 15 UT credit hours during their one semester of coursework.
- One appeal is allowed over the award period of 8 consecutive semesters if the cumulative GPA is 2.3 or higher and/or earned UT credit hours are 22 or greater. No appeal is allowed for a cumulative GPA less than 2.3 and/or earned UT credit hours less than 22.
- Scholarship appeal information will be sent directly to students’ Rocket email accounts once grades have been reviewed.
- If the appeal is approved, the following grid reflects the permanent award adjustment. If the appeal is approved, the student will again be required to maintain the 3.0 cumulative GPA and 30 UT credit hour requirements.
- Renewal requirements are subject to change at any time. Notice would be provided through students’ Rocket email accounts.
