The FAFA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) form should be completed by every family because it helps determine financial need and can possibly increase scholarship offers. For students eligible for the Blue and Gold Scholar Award, the FAFSA form must be completed by April 1, 2010 in order to receive the maximum award amount. To watch videos that will walk you through filing out the FAFSA, visit utoledo.edu/financialaid/fafsa.
Grants are awarded to students demonstrating high financial need and are not required to be repaid. Using FAFSA data, financial need is determined according to the Federal Methodology, a formula established by Congress to assess the family’s ability to contribute to the student’s educational costs.
