The International Business program was founded in 1947 and has been one of the strengths of the College of Business for over five decades. Over these years, the International Business academic program has consistently been ranked among the top in the United States at educating students in global business practices.

Inorder to extend these benefits through programming and consulting to the business community and general public, the IBI was founded in 1979.

Since its inception the IBI has:

• Generated millions in external funding for International Business programming
• Contributed significantly to the development and professional growth of faculty and students
• Provided guidance for firms taking their first steps into international commerce
• Assisted local economic agencies in attracting direct foreign investment into NW Ohio and SE Michigan
• Introduced students to career opportunities in International Business through study-abroad programs and internships.
