Applied Organization Technology at UT

The applied organizational technology program is designed for students who already have a technical associate’s degree. These students can complete a bachelor’s degree in the equivalent of two additional years of full-time study at The University of Toledo.

The degree is open to anyone meeting the admission requirements and, through advising, can be designed to meet the specific workforce needs of the individual. Students will work closely with a college adviser to discuss how to fulfill the necessary requirements for the bachelor of applied organizational technology degree. Scholarships also are available to students interested in pursuing this degree.

What to expect when you graduate

Graduates of the applied organizational technology program broaden their career opportunities by obtaining a bachelor’s degree. They can find technical jobs in the specific fields that they chose to gear their studies towards. Students also have the opportunity to even further continue their education in graduate programs.

The College of Business Administration has wireless laptops with Internet access and accessories for students to check out and use in Stranahan Hall. The College won Dell’s GenerationIdea nationwide contest for this innovative use of technology, originality and appropriateness to other higher education institutions.

Group campus tours are available Monday through Friday at 10:30 a.m. or 2:30 p.m., and on Saturday at 11:15 a.m., year round, with the exception of national holidays. Individual admission appointments are available by request. Individualized college or department visits are also available weekdays at 1:15 p.m. by appointment.

Complete associate degree from a regionally accredited institution
Minimum GPA of 2.25 on 4.0 scale in associate degree course work

A. Prerequisites:
A minimum cumulative GPA of 2.25 is required in the following prerequisite courses or their equivalents.
Economics
ECON 1150 and 1200, or equivalent	3-6
Mathematics
MATH 1260 and 1270, or equivalent	3-6
Business Statistics
BUAD 2060, or equivalent	3
Microcomputer Requirement*
BUAD 1020, or equivalent	3
Eighteen (18) hours are required beyond the prerequisite courses above. A grade of C (2.0) or better is required in each of the following courses (maximum of 2 courses may transfer towards minor)

Select two (2) additional courses from the eight listed above or select two courses at the 3000- or 4000- level from ACCT, FINA, INFS, MGMT, EFSB, IBUS, EBUS, OPMT, ORGD, HURM, PSLS, BANS, BLAW, or MKTG to complete the additional requirements. (Prerequisites for selected courses must be fulfilled.) Prerequisites for an MBA can also be fulfilled by completing any of the indicated (**) courses with a minimum grade of C (2.0).
D. Other Courses: (66-68 credit hours including transfer credits)
30 hours must be upper-division courses (numbered 3000-4000) taken at UT, but from outside the College of Business Administration. All prerequisites must be met.
15 hours of the 30 upper division hours must be from the College of Arts and Science.
15 hours taken at UT from any college except the College of Business Administration.
Students have the opportunity to complete a minor in the College of Arts and Sciences with the proper selection of classes.
E. Additional Notes:
Maximum of 25 percent business courses (including transfer credits) can apply toward the degree.

Approximately 60 credit hours will be transferred in from the associate degree. This may include some General Education core and business classes as well as technical courses that do not count for General Education or business classes. These technical courses will be at the 1000-2000 level and credit will be counted under other courses.
