Jane B. (Eberly) Eager

Jane B. Eager, age 83, formally of Toledo, passed away in New York.

Mrs. Eager graduated from the University of Toledo in 1932, and shortly thereafter authored a book which was made into the motion picture “Jenny”. She later wrote book and motion picture reviews for the New York Times and New Yorker magazine.

Mrs. Eager was the widow of Edward Eager, Pulitzer Prize author of many childrens books, a playright and lyricist.

Surviving are brother, William S. Eberly of Toledo, nephews, Stephen, Michael, Carlyle and Fritz Eberly, and Jeremy and Christopher Gould; niece, Susan Eberly.

The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women at the University of Toledo or the American Diabetes Association.

In her will, Jane Eager left monies to the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women which established the endowed Jane Eberly Eager Fund in April 1996.
