Volunteer Opportunities
Spring 2012 WOMEN’S CORPS OPPORTUNITIES
This semester the Women's Corps will begin to meet on a regular basis. We will meet the first Tuesday of the month at 4:30pm in the Eberly Center Conference Room, Tucker Hall 0180. This meeting will be an opportunity to meet other Women's Corps members and discuss upcoming volunteer activities. If you have any suggestions for places to volunteer please email emily.hardcastle@utoledo.edu or bring your ideas to the meeting.
The Women's Corps will also be serving together on one volunteer project each month. We will meet on the last Saturday of the month to volunteer at locations all around the area.
Call 419-530-8570 for more information.

Work Out in the Community
We are working on various relationships with community organizations to provide an opportunity for you to volunteer, please stay tuned for more...
Academic and Computer Tutors:
- We need tutors for women who are returning to work or school. Volunteers must have general knowledge in academic subjects such as math, English or science. We especially could use volunteers to help clients with their GED degree. Volunteers with computer skills are also very much needed for one on one assistance at our computer lab.
Mentors/Job Coach:
- We have a mentor program aimed at recruiting and retaining women students in STEMM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math and Medicine). Being a WISE (Women in STEMM Excelling) mentor shows community support and instills that ‘you can do anything’ confidence.
- “Job coaching” is also needed at the Center. Provide mentoring to a woman who is ‘job ready.’ Be the support and adviser to a woman who is now prepared to go back into the job force. Spend time on resume writing, job search etiquette or mock interviewing. Participate in various activities to help encourage skills and interest of the ‘job ready’ woman while also offering companionship.
The Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women (ECW) welcomes volunteers from the University and Toledo area communities.
Some volunteer opportunities can be structured for academic credit as independent study, internships, service learning, or as praxis experiences.
