What Does the Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women Do?
The Catharine S. Eberly Center for Women (ECW) is a physical space and a conceptual or psychic space.
- ECW is a physical space created to be beautiful and welcoming. Please take our virtual tour to explore the physical facility, including the art galleries.
- ECW is a conceptual space where learning occurs. That is, our library on violence against women and girls is available to students and scholars. - ECW creates a safe psychic space where the intersections of gender, race, ethnicity, age, sexual orientation, disability, class, academic status (students, faculty, and administrators), community and alumni meet, resulting in creative discourse and action. - ECW is an advocate for faculty, staff, and student women at the University of Toledo and a link from the University to the larger community of Northwest Ohio on women’s issues.
