ali@utoledo.eduWelcome

Thank you for your interest in the American Language Institute here at The University of Toledo.
Ten years ago, I came to the United States as a student and was immediately welcomed by new friends from all over the world. Having a group of people that supports you in your first months in the United States and beyond can make a big difference. The A.L.I. wants to be that support group so that you have a great experience as a student at the institute as well as at The University of Toledo. Our faculty and staff have extensive experience with living in other countries and/or studying other languages. They know how difficult the first few months in a new country can be and are working hard to make your time here as easy as possible.
Studying a language is not easy and it demands your full attention for several semesters. The American Language Institute offers you many additional programs to help you succeed on your educational journey: Be it our traditional classes or special topics classes. Our students learn English while doing fun things: hiking the Grand Canyon, learning from the homeless at a shelter, organizing fund raising events to benefit local charities, or filming their own documentaries about living in the United States. The American Language Institute is proud to house a variety of innovative and traditional course offerings to make learning English even easier for you.
