TEACHING ASSISTANTS
Robert Mirakian, Director of UT Symphony Orchestra

In 2009, Robert Mirakian joined the music faculty at the University of Toledo, where he directs the University of Toledo Symphony Orchestra and teaches String Chamber Music. Robert is also the Music Director of the Perrysburg Symphony Orchestra, Assistant Conductor of the Toledo Opera, and directs youth ensembles for the Toledo Symphony Youth Orchestras and Toledo Symphony School of Music. In Virginia, Robert was Music Director of the Richmond Philharmonic Orchestra and was Director of Orchestral Studies of Christopher Newport University. He has appeared as a guest conductor with the Toledo Symphony Orchestra, Florida's Jacksonville Symphony Orchestra, and the Quad Cities Symphony Orchestra.
Robert holds a Master of Music in Orchestral Conducting from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and is a cum laude graduate of Dartmouth College. He is currently completing his doctorate at Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music.
