Daniel Thobias, Assistant Professor of Theatre, Costume Design
Daniel Thobias joined the University of Toledo Department of Theatre & Film faculty in 2012 as assistant professor of theatre in costume design. He received his MFA in Scene Design from North Carolina School of the Arts, 2005. He received his BFA in Dramatic Arts from the University of California, Berkeley (1999). A native of Sweden, Thobias came to the US to study the medical profession. During his studies at Berkeley he found his true love in theatre design.
As a designer of scenery and costumes, Daniel brings a holistic understanding of the elements of production to his art. He has a wealth of experience with summer stock and festival theaters including Mount Washington Valley Theatre, Festival Stage of Winston Salem, North Carolina Shakespeare Festival, Opera Santa Barbara, and the Cuttingball Theater.
