Business Management Workplace Certificate

The Business Management Certificate is designed to give participants a solid foundation in the skills necessary to manage/own a business. Acquired skills include general knowledge of all aspects of organizations including human resources, economics, management, marketing and workplace diversity.All courses for this certificate are online.

This certificate is offered by the College of Business and Innovation, Applied Organizational Technology department, and earned credits may be applied towards a degree in the field. This department certificate is an excellent way to better prepare yourself for the changing workplace.

BMGT 1540	Organizational Behavior: This course will address the impact of individual and group behavior on organizations. Topics covered include downsizing, stakeholder management, network organizations, participative management approaches and the quality movement.	None	3
BMGT 2010	Workplace Management: Covers issues dealing with managing a company in a predominantly service-oriented marketplace. Topics include training employees to deal with customers/clients, creating a customer-friendly business environment, problem-solving and strategic planning.	None	3
BMGT 2020	Human Resource Development: Explores the functions of Human Resource Management including acquiring and developing human resources with special emphasis on improving the quality of work life.	None	3
BMGT 2110	Managing in a Global Economy: Students will examine one particular industry and learn the various economic factors associated with operating a business in an international setting.	None	3
