Information Services and Support Workplace Certificate

The Information Services and Support Certificate is designed to give you a solid foundation in the skills necessary to become a computer services and support specialist. Acquired skills include learning a variety of software packages, understanding workplace technology issues, and exploring Internet/networking components. The certificate program is beneficial in obtaining the ability to troubleshoot both software and hardware problems. All courses for this certificate are online.

This certificate is offered by the College of Business and Innovation, Applied Organizational Technology department, and earned credits may be applied towards a degree in the field. This department certificate is an excellent way to better prepare yourself for the changing workplace.

CMPT 1410	Microsoft Excel Spreadsheet Applications: Hands-on analysis of the use of Excel spreadsheets in solving workplace problems with an emphasis on the design of templates to meet the needs of specific applications.	None	2
CMPT 1420	Microsoft Access Database Applications: Hands-on analysis of the use of Access in solving workplace problems with an emphasis on the entering, updating, manipulating, storing and retrieving of information.	None	2
CNET 2150	Computer Hardware: Knowledge of computer hardware for the purpose of acquisition, installation and maintenance at the equipment level.  The curriculum is aligned with the A+ certification standards.	None	3
CNET 2200	Network Technologies: Examines the network technologies utilized in today's networks.  Emphasis is placed on understanding hardware and software concepts and protocols referred to in technical publications and advanced network studies.	None	4
