Programming & Software Development Workplace Certificate
The Programming and Software Development certificate is designed to give you a solid foundation in the skills necessary to develop computer software. You will acquire skills that include understanding the concepts related to database design, as well as developing and implementing appropriate software packages. This program also acquaints students with network technology and computer hardware issues. All courses for this certificate are online.
This certificate is offered by the College of Business and Innovation, Applied Organizational Technology department, and earned credits may be applied towards a degree in the field. This department certificate is an excellent way to better prepare yourself for the changing workplace.

| CMPT 1120 | Visual Basic Programming: A currently popular programming language, such as Microsoft Visual Studio, will be used to create stand-alone applications. Topics such as object-oriented coding, logical procedures and proper documentation are stressed. | None | 4 |
| CMPT 2030 | C Family Programming: Students are introduced to the C family of programming languages. Students will write computer programs using the most up-to-date versions of this language family. | None | 4 |
| CNET 2150 | Computer Hardware: Knowledge of computer hardware for the purpose of acquisition, installation and maintenance at the equipment level. The curriculum is aligned with the A+ certification standards. | None | 4 |
