Online Master of Science in Nursing, Nurse Educator
Introduction
The Master of Science in Nursing program at The University of Toledo is designed to build on the student’s past learning, personal and professional goals and the insights and experiences gained through practice. The Nurse Educator major is targeted for baccalaureate graduates with clinical nursing experience who want to become nursing faculty or staff educators. Graduates are envisioned as teachers of undergraduate nursing students in the classroom and clinical setting. This major focuses on: curriculum development, teaching-learning processes, classroom and clinical teaching strategies, and evaluation principles. The Nurse Educator major offers full-time and part-time options.
The University of Toledo Health Sciences Campus is an academic health science center located on 475 acres in a residential area of south Toledo. It is considered by many to be one of the most technologically advanced campuses in the nation.
The College of Nursing, established in 1971, is a major provider of undergraduate and graduate nursing education in northwest Ohio.

Admission Requirements
Application deadlines are October 1 and March 1 for receipt of all application materials
• Baccalaureate from an accredited college/university (official baccalaureate transcript required) • Overall grade point average of 3.0 in undergraduate work • Current unencumbered Ohio RN license • Completion of an undergraduate statistics course recommended • Computer competency that includes word processing skills and ability to communicate electronically • Personal statement describing career goals, future plans for employment and expectations for graduate study • Current resume or CV, listing current Ohio RN license number • Two College of Nursing recommendation forms completed by professional sources (Master in Nursing preferred) • The Graduate Record Examination (General Subject GRE) and TOEFL are required for international applicants • Interview, if requested • Admission is competitive
