Description This course is an introduction to financial accounting from the perspective of a financial statement user. Where appropriate, it provides a small and mid-sized company's perspective.

Technology Requirements

Students are responsible to have access to a properly functioning device (computer, tablet, etc.) throughout the semester. The devicemust be able to run software required for coursework or capable of connecting to UT's Virtual Computer Lab. If using a device at a public library, students should check with the library to insure they will have access and for the length of time required.

Will my course transfer? Check Out Transferology

Transferology is a Web-based transfer information system. In Transferology you can add the coursework you've taken (including some exams and military learning experiences) and find out how it might transfer to any of the participating schools in the nation-wide Transferology network.

*Students residing 50 miles or further from main campus are conisdered to be at a distance or distant students.

A number of faculty teaching math, science, health, business science, and psychology, among other courses may require students come to campus for testing, and may permit proctored testing for fully online students at a distance. Please contact your course instructor before you register if you have questions about these requirements.

Brief process description:

  • You locate your professional proctor within the first three weeks of the term, the first week in summer (see Proctor Guidelines.)
  • You complete the Student Proctor Form
  • UT Online vets and confirms your proctor and test location.
  • You are responsible for testing expenses, if any.
  • If you are testing outside of the United States you will use ProctorU, a third-party online proctor service.
