Parking Maintenance
The parking maintenance team consists of three maintenance repair workers. This team is responsible for the maintenance of over 50 parking lots and two parking structures which account for over 10,500 parking spaces as well as five miles of road on the Bancroft and Scott Park campuses. The team’s responsibility includes cleaning the lots both of debris and snow, as well as all asphalt and concrete maintenance such as patching, striping, repair of the drainage systems, signage, and maintenance of parking gates including keeping the parking areas lighted. Recently, the University has undertaken a project of upgrading all of the signage on campus and the parking team has performed the majority of installations on the system. Special attention is given to all parking for the disabled and recently 95% of these spaces were converted to a "universal space" that accommodates both vans and cars, thus improving the service to the customer and reducing signage requirements.
