Judith Herb College of Education Health Science and Human Service Scholarships
The Judith Herb College of Education 2012-2013 scholarship application will be available beginning Mid January 2012 in the Student Services Office, 3100 Gillham Hall. A paper application may also be printed from the web at http://www.utoledo.edu/eduhshs/scholarships/index.html . Application deadline is noon on March 16, 2012.
Note: All need-based scholarships require that a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be on file by April 1. Students may complete the FAFSA on the web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov or students may contact the Office of Student Financial Aid at 419.530.8700. The University of Toledo school code for completing the FAFSA is 003131. Information provided on each scholarship is subject to change.

The recipient shall be engaged in student teaching the year of the scholarship’s distribution, have a minimum 2.7 GPA and, if possible to determine, be hard-working, with a love of people and a desire to help others.
American Council of the Blind of Ohio Scholarship
Recipient shall be full or part-time undergraduate or graduate students majoring in a program that will prepare them to be educators of children who are blind or visually impaired or to students who are blind or visually impaired. The recipient shall have a minimum
3.0 GPA. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate financial hardship and whose home community was in Ohio prior to matriculation.
Thomas Baither Family Scholarship
The recipient will have graduated from a Northwest Ohio or Southeast Michigan high school. An incoming freshman must have a minimum GPA of 3.0 and a minimum ACT score of 20. An upper class undergraduate must have maintained a minimum 3.0 GPA. The scholarship is based on financial need.
Robert J. and Wrey Warner Barber Scholarship Fund
Recipients shall be students majoring in education in the Judith Herb College of Education.
Josephine Bester Memorial Scholarship (new award)

David & Helen Frye Boone Scholarship

Robert Buell Memorial Award
Award presented to a graduate student in any college who best exemplifies scholarly excellence in the physical and biological sciences, has maintained genuine academic interest in the social sciences and humanities and plans a career in education. Frank and Hortense Clemons Scholarship

Celia Koontz Findlay Scholarship in Elementary Education
Scholarships are for U.S. citizens who are sophomores, juniors, or seniors in the Judith Herb College of Education and majoring in elementary and/or early childhood education. Based primarily on financial need. A minimum 2.5 GPA or higher is required. Extra curricular and community activities may be considered particularly past or current involvement in church-related activities. Upon review by the COE Scholarship Committee, automatically renewable if recipients continue to meet criteria. Scholarships are automatically renewed if recipients continue to meet criteria.
The Florence Finkbeiner Memorial Scholarship in Early Childhood Education
This scholarship is awarded to full-time students who have been accepted to professional standing in the Early Childhood Education program while maintaining a minimum 3.3 GPA or higher. May be applied to any and all university expenses. Renewable if recipient continues to meet criteria.
Thomas and Ellen Gibney Scholarship
Scholarship is for seniors with math majors in middle school education. Must have a minimum 2.7 GPA. Scholarship should be applied toward student teaching. Students receiving grants, fee waivers, or other scholarship assistance not eligible. May be renewable.

Gottshall-Rex Memorial Scholarship
