College of Pharmacy Scholarships
The 2012-2013 application for the College of Pharmacy is currently available online at http://www.utoledo.edu/pharmacy/current/scholarships.html. This application is completed online and submitted online. The deadline for completing the application is 4:45 p.m. on March 31, 2012. Note: All need-based scholarships require that a completed Free Application for Federal
Student Aid (FAFSA) be on file by April 1. Students may complete the FAFSA on the
web at http://www.fafsa.ed.gov. The University of Toledo school code for completing the FAFSA is 003131. Information
provided on each scholarship is subject to change.
Alpha Zeta Omega, Roy Scott Scholarship Fund Applicants must be UT College of Pharmacy students who are enrolled as full-time Pharm D students in the professional school. They must be in good standing with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicants must be from northeast Ohio (east to Pennsylvania, south to Mansfield, Ohio and west to Sandusky, Ohio). Based on financial need.
Jose & Wilma Aponte Scholarship
A scholarship is presented annually to an outstanding professional program UT pharmacy student based on GPA and attributes befitting a pharmacist.
B.S.P.S. Outstanding Student Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to one student enrolled in each of the B.S.P.S. programs (Pharmacology/Toxicology Track, Medicinal Chemistry Track, Pharmaceutics Track, Pharmacy Administration Track) who possess the highest GPA of 3.0 or better.
Dean Baker Memorial Scholarships
Scholarships offered annually to outstanding 2nd year Pharmacy students with financial need.
Earl O. Bean Memorial Scholarships
These scholarships are presented annually to UT pharmacy students on the basis of scholarship and/or need for use in the fourth or fifth year.
Dean Norman F. Billups Pharmacy Scholarships
Scholarship for sixth year UT pharmacy students who have good academic standing, financial need, and demonstrated commitment to the practice of pharmacy.
Brown-Mumma Pharmacy Scholarship for Women
Scholarships are awarded annually to fifth year women enrolled full-time in the UT College of Pharmacy who possess a 3.0 GPA or better and demonstrate involvement in activities of The University of Toledo.
Wilma Chamberlain Memorial Scholarship
Awarded annually to a fourth or fifth year pharmacy student on the basis of scholarship and/or need.
Council of Ohio Colleges of Pharmacy Scholarship
Scholarships are presented to underrepresented minority UT pharmacy students on the basis of GPA and/or need.
Melinda Curley Memorial Scholarship
A scholarship is presented each year to a fifth year pharmacy student based on leadership and service.
CVS/Pharmacy Scholarships
Scholarships are awarded to fourth and fifth year UT pharmacy students who have expressed an interest in retail pharmacy.
Discount Drug Mart Pharmacy Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to junior, senior, or graduate level students enrolled in the UT College of Pharmacy. Students shall have a 3.4 GPA and financial need. Preference will be given to students of northwest Ohio who plan to work as a pharmacist in a retail community setting.
Dean Johnnie l Early,II, Leadership scholarships
These scholarships are given to the student leaders (president, director, Regent, etc.) of the UT College of Pharmacy organizations.
Dean Bess Emch Memorial Scholarships
Scholarships are offered annually to outstanding third year UT pharmacy students with financial need.
Dean's Outstanding PharmD Student Scholarship
This scholarship is presented annually to a Pharm D UT student for academic excellence and overall didactic performance.
Terrice C. Escott Memorial Scholarship
Recipient must be a female student in the second or third year professional track in the College of Pharmacy. Preference will be given to a member of Lambda Kappa Sigma PLS. Recipient must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher, be professional and poised in manner, and/or have placed in the overall counseling competition.
Dana S. Fitzsimmons Pharmacy Scholarship and Cultural Award
A scholarship is awarded annually to a fourth year UT pharmacy student from Ohio who exhibits academic excellence and a demonstrable proficiency in a performance or visual art.
Larry Forderer Memorial Award
This award is presented annually to a UT pharmacy student entering the fourth year of study in recognition of excellence in the art of compounding and attributes truly befitting a pharmacist.
Henry and Ruth Gray Scholarship
This scholarship, sponsored by the Theta Chapter of Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceutical Fraternity, is presented to a UT pharmacy student and is based upon scholarship. This scholarship is not offered every year.
Fredrick J. Hillman Memorial Scholarship Fund
These scholarships are presented annually to a third, fourth, or fifth year UT pharmacy students on the basis of merit.
Hutton Pharmacy Scholarship
Scholarship for African-American student enrolled in the College of Pharmacy. Applicants must be Ohio residents and preference will be given to students from the Toledo area. Selection is based on merit and financial need. Scholarship may be renewed if recipient reapplies.
Dean Joseph Judis Memorial Scholarship
These scholarships are offered annually to an outstanding fifth year UT pharmacy student with financial need.
Kappa Psi Award
This award is presented annually to the UT student attaining the highest grades in Pharmacy 3010, a course that presents the fundamental principles of pharmacy and pharmaceutical calculations.
Bill and Betty Klein Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by the Theta Chapter of Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceutical Fraternity. The scholarship is presented to a UT pharmacy student and is based upon scholarship and leadership. This scholarship is not offered every year.
Kroger Pharmacy Scholarship
These scholarships are presented each year to an outstanding student enrolled in the professional program of the UT College of Pharmacy.
Dean Charles Larwood Memorial Scholarship
These scholarships are offered annually to outstanding fourth year UT pharmacy students with financial need.
Meijer Pharmacy Scholarship
Meijer presents scholarships each year to full-time third or fourth year students in the UT College of Pharmacy. Scholarships are based on financial need and merit.
Naomi B. & Donald C. Merrell Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are given annually to full-time third, fourth, and fifth year students in the UT College of Pharmacy on the basis of scholarship and need.
Dr. William P. Mies Scholarship
This scholarship is presented to a fourth year UT pharmacy student who entered the college with an undergraduate degree.
Alan R. Minadeo Memorial ASP Scholarship
These scholarships are given annually to outstanding students in the UT College of Pharmacy. The recipients are selected on the basis of activities and accomplishments in ASP during the previous year.
Northern Ohio Academy of Pharmacy Scholarship
This scholarship is presented yearly to a fourth year UT College of Pharmacy student in good standing who resides in Cuyahoga County, is involved in service activities, and has financial need.
Outstanding Service Scholarship
This scholarship recognizes a UT pharmacy student who demonstrates outstanding service and leadership to their class.
Andrea Kay Pavlich Memorial Scholarship Award
Award for Pharm D students who have been accepted in the professional track. It is given to a student demonstrating high quality patient care.
Perez Family Scholarship
This scholarship is presented annually to an upper division UT Pharmacy student in good standing who demonstrates financial need.
Pharmacists Mutual Scholarship
These scholarships are presented annually to outstanding full-time undergraduate UT students in the College of Pharmacy. Scholarship is based on financial need and merit.
Pharmacy Partnership Board Leadership Scholarship
The recipient of this scholarship must be a University of Toledo student with a 3.0 GPA or higher. The recipient must have leadership and /or need..
Dean William McKendrie Reed Scholarship
Scholarships are offered annually to outstanding freshmen in the College of Pharmacy by the College of Pharmacy Alumni Affiliate in memory of the college’s first dean, William McKendrie Reed, who served from 1904-1937. Scholarship applications will be mailed to eligible entering freshmen who have been admitted to the College of Pharmacy.

James A. Rice Memorial Scholarship
Recipients shall be students accepted into the professional level in UT's College of Pharmacy, in year three, four, five or six of the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Recipients must have a 3.0 GPA or higher. Preference will be given to students who have an identified health or special needs challenge. The scholarship is not based on financial need. Renewable.
Rite Aid Corporation Scholarship
These scholarships are presented each year to outstanding students in the UT College of Pharmacy. Preference is given to fourth year students with an interest in retail or chain pharmacy and currently employed by Rite Aid Corporation.
Marcella Roll Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded annually to a woman enrolled full-time in the UT Professional Division of the College of Pharmacy who is a member of Lambda Kappa Sigma and who has demonstrated professional involvement, scholarship, and leadership.
Howard Runyan Scholarship Fund
Scholarship for full-time study available to UT pharmacy students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0. Based on financial need and academic achievement.
Charles Schifman Memorial Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded each year to a student in the UT College of Pharmacy based on scholarship and/or need.
Robert J. Schlembach Scholarship
These scholarships are awarded annually to UT pharmacy students who have good academic standing, financial need, and a demonstrated commitment to the practice of pharmacy.
Dean Robert J. Schlembach Alumni Scholarship
Scholarships are awarded to students in the UT College of Pharmacy who demonstrate academic achievement, financial need and a commitment to the practice of pharmacy.
Roy C. Scott Cultural Scholarship
This scholarship is sponsored by the Alpha Zeta Omega Pharmaceutical Fraternity (Theta Chapter, Cleveland) and is presented to a pharmacy student based upon academic achievement.
Gilbert & Janiece Siegel Scholarship/Leadership Award
This scholarship is presented annually to UT College of Pharmacy students who are beginning the final year of study in pharmacy. The criteria for selection are academic excellence and demonstrated leadership.
William W. & Ella P. Stewart Scholarship Fund
Scholarships are presented annually to full-time African-American students in the professional division of the UT College of Pharmacy based on scholarship and need.
William and Dyreese Sweeney Scholarship Fund
Recipients shall be UT students who maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher, based on a 4.0 grading scale. Scholarship award is also based on student financial need.
Awards are made as follows:
- Pharmacy students in the licensure program are awarded on odd years, and College of Education students in secondary education are awarded on even years.
Rose Marie Reuss Thomson Pharmacy Scholarship
Scholarship for University of Toledo pharmacy students demonstrating scholarship and financial need.
Toledo Academy of Pharmacy
Recipients shall be full-time students (12 or more semester credit hours) in the professional division of the Doctor of Pharmacy program at The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy. Recipients must demonstrate financial need and have a GPA of at least 3.0 on a 4.0 scale. Must be actively involved in student pharmacy organizations and demonstrate involvement in community service activities.
Wal-Mart Pharmacy Scholarship
This scholarship is awarded to a UT professional program student in the College of Pharmacy in recognition of academic achievement, strong leadership qualities, a desire to enter community pharmacy practice, and need.
