Membership in the NATA
Student membership in the NATA is open to all undergraduate athletic training students. Whie it is not required, membership is strongly recommended. Application forms may be completed on -line at http://www.nata.org or by downloading from the NATA web page. Dues are $90 a year ($75 National and $15 District IV). Membership is based on the calendar year and dues are prorated by thirds of the year, so no matter when you apply, the initial fee covers until December 31.
Asa member of the NATA you will receive a subscription to The Journal of Athletic Training (quarterly research journal), The NATA NEWS (monthly association bulletin), monthly E-Blast from the NATA as well as updates of important information as they happen, the Great Lakes Athletic Trainers Association (GLATA, NATA District IV) E-Blast and on-line newsletter and you will be on the "official mailing list" so you will be better informed as to what is going on in the national and regional organizations. (This list is also sold to advertisers, so be prepared for all kinds of 3rd class product announcements, catalogs, etc.) In addition, membership indicates you are developing a "professional attitude" toward your chosen profession.
One advantage to student members of the NATA is the fee for the certification examination is $300 for members and $350 for nonmembers.
