Biographical Sketch:
Melanie Criss joined the University of Toledo Occupational Therapy department faculty
in 2008. She received her Occupational Therapy Doctorate in 2011 from Chatham university,
her Master of Occupational Therapy degree in 2000 from the University of Toledo and
her Bacholor of Business Administration degree in 1998 from Campbell University in
North Carolina. The majority of her clinical experience has been in pediatrics, primarily
in school settings; however, she also has experience in outpatient pediatrics, early
intervention, and job-site evaluation and rehabilitation. Currently, in her private
practice, Melanie provides occupational therapy services to children with disabilities
and their families. She has developed an innovative telerehabilitation program for
virtual charter schools in several states that has revealed positive student outcomes
and high levels of client satisfaction.
