With the new Dterm Series i the biggest difference you will notice is that some functions have moved up to the "soft keys." The soft keys are located at the very top of the phone under the LED display. |

| Programmable Features | ||||
| Feature Key | This key is used to activate terminal setup functions and to program One-Touch Speed
Dial/Feature Keys.

| Recall Key | Used to terminate established call and reseize dial tone for the next call or feature activation. | |||
| Conf | This key is used to establish a three-way call.

| Press the Redial key to activated the redial feature. This key retains the last 5
telephone numbers dialed.

| This key is great for individuals who are responsible for answering more than one
line from their telephone.

| Speaker Button | Controls the phones built-in speaker, which can be used for Hands-Free dialing/monitoring. LED on key lights up red when key is in use. | |||
| Directory | This feature is not available at this time. | |||
| Message | Enables access to the voice mail system when set as a One-Touch Speed dial.

| Up/Down Arrows | Display Contrast | When the phone is idle Press arrow up to brighten or Press arrow down to dim contrast. | ||
| Speak/Receiver Volume |
Press arrow up to raise volume during a conversation. Press arrow down to lower volume during a conversation. |

| Ringer Volume |
When the phone is ringing press arrow up to make ringer louder. Press arrow down to make ringer softer. |

| Soft Keys | The buttons beneath the display on your telephone are called "soft keys" because their function changes depending on the mode that your telephone is in at any given time. The current feature will be indicated in the display above each button. Press the Help key, then press desired Soft Key for helpful information about that key. Press the Exit key to exit the Help Program. | |||

| Exit | Press the Exit key to exit the Help program. | |||
| OHR/OFF | Off Hook Ringing off - in this state pre-programmed subline ringing is activated. If prime line is in use, sublines will have a muted ring. | |||
| OHR/ON | Off Hook Ringing On - in this state pre-programmed subline ringing is deactivated. | |||
| Mute | Go off-hook or press speaker key, then press Soft Key. MUTE will flash. In this state, your voice will not be transmitted into the handset, or speaker whichever is in use. Off Hook Ringing On - in this state pre-programmed subline ringing is deactivated. | |||
| Call Pick Up |
You may answer an incoming call directed to an unattended station within a programmed pick-up group. Contact Telecommunications x4098 to see if this line feature is active on your telephone extension. To Use:

| MIC | Press the Soft Key below "MIC" to activate or deactivate the microphone. The LED will illuminate when MIC is on. | |||
| Headset | Press the Soft Key below "Headset" to activate or deactivate Headset operation. The primary extension LED will illuminate when headset is on. | |||
| Voice | This feature only works between Dterm telephones. This feature will not work if the individual dialed is on the telephone.

| S&R (Save & Repeat) | Stores a number for future one-time redial.

| CB (Callback) | This feature allows you to request a "call back" if you encounter a busy University
extension.

Note: Only one Call Back request can be set to or from any extension at a time. Additional attempts will be indicated by a fast busy signal. Call Back is automatically canceled if the telephone that set the Call Back doesn't answer within approximately three rings. |

| Lamps | Call Indicator Lamp | Lamp at top corner of display flashes when a call is received. Lamp lights steadily when a voice mail messages has been left. | ||
| LCD Display | Provides Dterm activity information, date, time and Soft Key operation. | |||
| LED | Some function keys have a built-in Light-Emitting Diode (LED) that lights or flashes according to the activity of that function key. | |||
| MIC (Microphone) Lamp | Lamp displays the status of the built-in microphone used for hands free operation. | |||
| Call Forwarding | Forward All |
The Forward All feature (FDA) allows the telephone user to forward all calls to the Voice Mail system or any appropriate extension. If you set this feature your telephone will not ring, all calls will immediately be routed to the designated extension. To Activate this feature:

| Forward Busy |
The Forward Busy feature (FDB) permits calls to a busy telephone extension to be immediately forwarded to voice mail or another appropriate telephone extension. If you set this feature your callers will not get a busy signal when dialing your extension, all calls will immediately be routed to the number you have designated. ToActivate this feature:

| Forward No Answer |
The Forward No Answer feature (FDN) permits calls to an unattended extension to be forwarded to an appropriate extension after a programmed ringing interval. If you set this feature your telephone will ring 4-5 times at your desk, if you do not pick up the handset your call will be routed to the extension you have designated. To Activate this feature:

| Speed Dial |
This feature may be available on your Dterm is you have lineprogrammable feature feys that are available (no programmed number.) To store numbers for speed dialing:

| Extended Speed Dial | This feature is available on your Dterm and is programmed by a Telephone Services technician. Each Dtermtelephone has a speed dial 'bin' of 10 (ten) numbers.
