2012 Annual Champion: David Gosser

David Gosser, a UT nursing student, says his Catholic faith is what drives him to help others in so many ways. He raises money for local organizations, helps feed Toledo's poor and works with autistic children through the Autism Treatment Center's Son-Rise Program. Read more or Watch video
Kelly Staufer - January
To reduce stereotypes, Kelly Staufer invited speakers to UT to educate others of the challenges lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer or questioning students face. Read more
Rosaline Cordova - February
Rosaline Cordova, a student at UT, helped plan four student-run medical mission trips to Central America to provide free health care to undeveloped villages. Read more
Erin Nichols - March
On her first trip with Engineers Without Borders, Erin Nichols lead successful initiatives for water treatment projects in Honduras. She then served as president of EWB for two years. Read more
Matthew Perry - June
A culture ambassador at UT, Matthew Perry is involved with organizations that support individuals who are lesbian, gay, bisexual, queer, questioning and transgender. Watch video
Susan Rice - July
Dr. Susan Rice, a professor of nursing at UT, volunteers her extra time with the organization Gliding Stars. It provides an opportunity for those with disabilities to ice skate and socialize. Watch video
Nicholas Hemwall - August
As a freshman, Nicholas Hemwall has already done outstanding work in the community by assisting the American Red Cross. He has chaired some of his own local blood drives. Watch video
Katelyn Ball - October
Katelyn Ball is a Cincinnati native and recent graduate of UT who was a part of Dance Marathon, Campus Crusade for Christ, TOMS One Day Without Shoes and more. Watch video
Vipul Shukla - November
As a volunteer in the UTMC HIV testing clinic, Vipul Shukla goes above and beyond by participating in HIV educational programs and helping to broaden the impact of the testing center.
Sherry Andrews - December
Sherry Andrews touches the lives of everyone around her, performing selfless acts such as organizing a team to do an entire kitchen renovation for a colleague battling cancer.
