R. Bruce Way
R. Bruce Way holds a joint appointment as a Lecturer in History and Foreign Languages. He earned his Ph.D. from the University of Toledo in 1994, under the direction of Dr. Gerald Thompson. His dissertation was published as The Life and Careers of William Henry Gorrill, 1841-1874 (1996). He continues to review regularly for Choice, participates in the Great Lakes War of 1812 Bicentennial Collaborative and has articles in progress on the War of 1812 and Toledo on the eve of the Civil War. His current history teaching responsibilities cover the U.S. from 1789-1865, in Foreign Languages, Introductory and Intermediate French. He recently concluded a 2-year run as local host of NPR’s Morning Edition on WGTE Public Radio.
