Dr. Abid A. Al-Marayati

Professor Emeritus

Since his retirement, Professor Al-Marayati continues to teach courses on international relations and Arab politics. A native of Iraq, he has served at the United Nations and the International Atomic Energy Agency and has taught in Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Australia and Beijing. He joined the UT faculty in 1968 from Arizona State University. While at UT, Prof. Al-Marayati served as chair of the department and as director of the Center for International Studies and won the Outstanding Teacher Award.
