BioInfOhio Consortium

BioInfoBio is the Northwest Ohio Consortium on bioinformatics, proteomics and genomics. Partners in this consortium include the University of Toledo (UT) and Bowling Green State University (BGSU).

Together the University of Toledo and Bowling Green State University have:
~ 40,800 full time students (UT = 23,100; BGSU = 17,700)
~   3,332 full time faculty  (UT = 2,232; BGSU = 1,100)
~ More than $30 million/year in grants

BGSU and the former MCO, jointly applied in 2000 to the Ohio Board of Regents, seeking to initiate a program in bioinformatics. The University of Toledo joined in 2001. Strategic funding came from Mercy Healthcare, the Stranahan Foundation, and others.
