Educational Conferences
Itis our mission to create and provide an atmosphere that will stimulate scholarly enhancement for our students, residents, faculty and community physicians. Up to date and latest advances in pediatric medicine are offered as part of Pediatric Grand Rounds. Evidence Based Medicine is a component of our Pediatric Journal Club. In addition, in-depth analysis of cases and outcomes is part of the Morbidity and Mortality Conference (M and M). Through Pediatric Radiology Conferences, we aim to keep you up to date on what to order and how to interpret results. Please feel free to participate in our conferences. Below is our recurring schedule, and where the conferences are. They are open to all UT students/residents/faculty and any community health care provider.
Pediatric Grand Rounds - every other Wednesday morning and alternate between Toledo Children's Hospital and Mercy Children's Hosptial with many guest speakers on cutting edge pediatric issues. For further information contact Cindy Reinsel at 419.383.4462 or cynthia.reinsel@utoledo.edu.
Interesting Case Conference - first Friday of each month from 7:00-8:00 AM at Toledo Children's Hospital. Contact Diane Monaghan at 419-291-4649 or diane.monaghan@promedica.org for additional information.
Pediatric Morbidity and Mortality Conference - second Friday of each month from 8-9 AM at Mercy Children's Hosptial. Contact Ricki Benner at 419-251-8050 or ricki.benner@utoledo.edu for additional information.
Pediatric Radiology Conference - third Friday of each month from 7:30-8:30 AM at Toledo Children's Hospital. Contact Diane Monaghan at 419-291-4649 or diane.monaghan@promedica.org for additional information.

Core Curriculum Conferences- Accessible online via Scopia, Monday, Tuesday and Thursday at lunchtime from 12-1pm. Residents
are excused from clinical duties to attend this conference covering all general and
subspecialty topics pertinent to pediatric practice. Lecture topics are chosen to
reflect AAP and ABP Content Specifications.
Morning Report - occurs on Monday. Resident-faculty interactive conference aimed at discussing practical
and state of the art diagnosis and management.
Continuity Clinic Conference - once a month a topic pertinent to general outpatient pediatrics is discussed in
continuity clinic.
Pediatric Cancer Conference - once per quarter a different pediatric oncology case is presented.
Ethics Conference - each month either an ethics case is presented at morning report centered around
an ethical issue.
