There were approximately 250 people at this wonderful event, with approximately $4,000 raised for the James Hampton Scholarship Fund.

James Hampton PhD, a long-time resident of Waterville devoted over 20 years of teaching at The University of Toledo (Formerly Medical College of Ohio at Toledo—MCO).   He taught Pathophysiology courses in the Departments of Physician Assistant Studies, Nursing, Physical Therapy, Medicine and the Basic Health Sciences.

Jim was recently diagnosed with Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s Disease.  This progressive neurodegenerative disease has forced him to retire from the work that he so loved.  “Hampton on the Trail” is scheduled to be an annual event to honor the man who has touched the lives of so many at The University of Toledo.

The James Hampton Scholarship Fund has been created to honor this great man.  The Scholarship Fund will benefit students on the UT Health Science Campus who excel in Pathophysiology coursework and exemplify some of Jim’s attributes (character, honesty and integrity).

      THANK - YOU !!!!!
