Request for Transfer
Request for Transfer Requests for transfer to the College of Medicine from another medical school will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Transfers will be limited to students who demonstrate compelling personal circumstances, good academic performance, and space availability in the clerkship programs.
Outlined below is the criteria to apply to the program in the following order:
- Applicants applying to The University of Toledo College of Medicine Medical School
must be citizens of the United States or have permanent resident status (permanent
residency "green" card).
If applying as a permanent resident, an applicant must be a permanent resident at the time of application and will be required to submit a photocopy of the front and back of their permanent resident card. - Successful completion of two (2) years of an LCME accredited allopathic medical school
curriculum and status of “good academic standing.”
- Equivalent academic credentials to the University of Toledo College of Medicine medical
school curriculum.
- Complete the University of Toledo Medical School Admission Secondary Online Application
http://application.utoledo.edu/.
- Once you have completed the online application, do not hit submit, the application
fee will be waived.
- You will notify via e-mail medadmissions@utoledo.edu that you are applying to Transfer to the University of Toledo Medical School.
- Write a statement of the reason why you want to transfer to The University of Toledo
Medical School. It should be no longer than a page.
- A copy of United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) Step 1 score report.
You may scan and send a copy in a pdf format via e-mail to medadmissions@utoledo.edu.
- Three (3) letters of recommendation including an evaluation from the Dean/Associate
Dean for Student Affairs must be sent directly to the University of Toledo Medical
School Admissions either via e-mail to medadmissions@utoledo.edu or to University of Toledo Medical School Admissions, MS#1043, 3000 Arlington Ave.,

- Official transcripts from all previous colleges/universities you have attended must
be sent directly to the University of Toledo Medical School Admissions either via
