Students not yet eligible for inducation at the national level are Associate Members of the local chapter with meetings and activities open to all students pursuing careers in the health care professions. Chapter activities include social events, community service projects, and informational meetings with a variety of guest speakers.
Another service AED provides its students is the opportunity for mentoring with a local physician through the mentorship program with the The Academy of Medicine of Toledo and Lucas County.
