Our resolutions for 2012 were: (1) increase membership by 10 percent; (2) plan interesting and fun events for members; (3) increase our endowment fund; (4) encourage members to volunteer for committee work; (5) continue to enhance our strong networking component; and (6) continue with strong grant funding. Here are the results:
- 12 new members, representing a 19.6 percent increase in membership
- Membership reaches 61
- Members and guests attend a Lady Rockets Basketball game on January 25
- 2012 grant: A $50,000 pledge to the new Alumni Pavilion to name the Hospitality area:. The Women & Philanthropy Rocket Station
- The amount granted to UT projects and programs reaches $176,931.00
- W&P Endowment Fund reaches fully-funded status ahead of schedule
- Members attend Annual Donor Recognition Event on May 11. Members attend the Alumni Pavilion groundbreaking event on May 12. The Hon. Linda Jennings represents W&P
- Members and guests visit Ritter Planetarium and Brooks Observatory to view the result of our grant for the displays. We were also treated to a special showing of “The Night Skies of Toledo” and “Black Holes: The Other Side of Infinity” in the dome auditorium with the Observatory’s new, state-of-the-art Spitz A3P projector. - We launched our Facebook page
- Summer Social on June 22 hosted by member, Jole Harmon
- Dedication and tour of the Honors College Art Gallery made possible by a W&P grant. July 11
- Members attend the Alumni Pavilion Dedication celebration. Marianne Ballas represents W&P at the ribbon-cutting ceremony on September 13
- Members participate in the Homecoming Parade on October 8 and attend the Special Donor Parade Tent Party
- Members and guests attend a Rocket Football game in the Institutional Advancement skybox on November 20
- Holiday Social hosted by member, Barbara Baker on December 12.
