The Future of Pharmacy
The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, a practitioner's school, is known for its century-long tradition of preparing pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists to care for patients and meet the demands of the industry. The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences continues to build upon this legacy with "The Future of Pharmacy," a campaign that celebrates the innovations and progress of the college and situates the college as a leader in pharmacy education.
In Fall 2010, the College of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences expanded to The Frederic and Mary Wolfe Center on the university's Health Science Campus, taking a portion of its students and faculty to a state of the art new building. The Frederic and Mary Wolfe Center, in conjunction with Wolfe Hall on the Main Campus, accommodates the college’s growing student enrollment, which has increased from 800 to over 1,500 in the past ten years.
The Frederic and Mary Wolfe Center is located between the Block Science Building and the Health Education Building, a site chosen for its central location on the campus and its proximity to classrooms, clinics, Mulford Library and the Medical Center. The college's expansion to the Health Science Campus is leading to more research collaborations among students and faculty and enhance current collaborations in the fields of cancer and diabetes treatment, immunology and transplantation, and neurodegenerative disorders. Along with the expansion, the college is engaged in new research initiatives that will complement the college's success on the main campus and health science campus.
The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is reaching the end of its transformational campaign for quality to fund major initiatives associated with the expansion to the health science campus. Scholarships, equipment and research enhancements are funded through the capital campaign, which is already underway. The College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences welcomes alumni and friends to take part in our campaign for The Future of Pharmacy.
