Dr. Vaidya is an Assistant Professor at The University of Toledo College of Pharmacy. He received his Ph.D. in Health Outcomes and Policy Research (HOPR) from the University of Tennessee in May 2009. He has also received Bachelor of Pharmaceutical Sciences degree (B.Pharm) along with the professional pharmacist licensure from India. Dr.Vaidya’s research areas include pharmacoeconomics, pharmacy care, health outcomes and health services research. His dissertation focused on impact of pharmacy benefit plans on utilization of medications among patients with persistent asthma. For this study he was awarded two years access to a large administrative claims dataset (MarketScan) through a doctoral dissertation support program
During his tenure at the University of Tennessee as a graduate student, Dr. Vaidya was involved in numerous projects funded by various agencies that allowed him to present his work at national as well as international research meetings. He has presented his work at national research meeting such as International Society of Pharmacoeconomics and Outcomes Research (ISPOR), Academy Health as well as international conferences such as Federation of International Pharmaceutical Federation (FIP 2007 China) and Pharmaceutical Sciences World Congress (PSWC 2007 Netherlands). He has been actively involved in ISPOR for the last five years and has also served as president of the University of Tennessee-ISPOR student chapter for the year 2007-08. Dr.Vaidya is member of Rho Chi, pharmacy’s academic honor society. He has also represented the department of HOPR at the University of Tennessee graduate student council.
Dr. Vaidya joined the faculty at The University of Toledo in July 2009. He is also an adjunct faculty for PCOR lab in the Department of Pharmacy Practice. Currently his primary responsibilities include conducting independent and collaborative research, along with mentoring graduate students and teaching in the pharmacy and graduate curriculum.
