Dr. Amie Smith

Dr. Smith earned her Doctor of Pharmacy degree Ferris State University. She completed a pharmacy practice residency at Sparrow Health System in Lansing, MI and joined The University of Toledo as a faculty member in 2008.
Dr. Smith coordinates the Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experience (IPPE's) for the P1 students and assists with the other IPPE courses. She also helps with site recruitment and retention, as well as site and preceptor development.
Inaddition to working with the IPPE's, Dr. Smith has a clinical practice in ambulatory adult medicine at UTMC. She acts as a consultant for the internal medicine clinics at UTMC, helping to manage patients with polypharmacy, hard-to-control disease states, compliance barriers, and medication education needs.
