Dr. Mariann Churchwell received her bachelor and doctor of pharmacy degrees from Wayne
State University. Dr. Churchwell has completed both a pharmacy practice residency
at Detroit Receiving Hospital and a two-year pharmacotherapy research fellowship in
critical care nephrology at the University of Michigan.
Within her current position as an associate professor at The University of Toledo
College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Churchwell maintains a clinical
practice at The University of Toledo Medical Center with the Nephrology medical team
where she precepts pharmacy residents and students. She teaches and coordinates the
Nephrology PPT course and gives select lectures in the Advanced Applied Pharamacokinetics
course. Dr. Churchwell maintains an active research laboratory at The University of
Toledo College of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, where her research is primarily
focused in drug and solute removal kinetics during different dialysis modalities.
Dr. Churchwell is a full member of the American College of Clinical Pharmacy, and
a member of the American Society of Nephrology, American Association of Colleges of
Pharmacy, Ohio Society of Health-System Pharmacists and the Toledo Area Society of
Health System Pharmacists.
