Dr. Kaun received her bachelors of science in pharmacy and doctor of pharmacy degrees from The University of Toledo. She completed a residency in primary care at the W.W. Knight Family Medicine program at The Toledo Hospital.
Dr. Kaun is the Director of Advanced Pharmacy Practice Experiences. She coordinates rotations for students in the P4 year of the doctor of pharmacy program. She is responsible for placement of the students into rotation sites, establishing and maintaining relationships with sites and preceptors, and troubleshooting daily problems related to rotations.
Dr. Kaun has a clinical practice in ambulatory adult medicine at The Center for Health Services. She acts as a consultant for the 6 physician practice which primarily cares for indigent and underserved patients. The Center for Health Services is a Promedica Health System facility located on the campus of The Toledo Hospital.
The teaching interests of Dr. Kaun include endocrine, metabolic disorders, anticoagulation and other blood disorders. She teaches the therapeutics in each of these areas within the Pharm.D. curriculum.
In addition to responsiblities at the University, Dr. Kaun also works as a staff pharmacist at Flower Memorial Hospital. This role assists in keeping Dr. Kaun in touch with the practical aspects of pharmacy practice.
