Residency Application Process: Overview
The Residency Application Process ("RAP") involves a multitude of tasks, responsibilities, and deadlines on your path from fourth year of medical school to the next stage of training for your medical career. The process is sometimes complex and often time consuming. As a result, the biggest key to your success is for you to respect the time and energy that is required for you to work through all of the steps--and to take responsibility for keeping yourself informed.
Consider this Residency Application Process website as one career advising tool to help you be successful during this important transition!
RAP Toolbox
Continue to make use of the career advising, decision-making, self-assessment and other resources available on the Careers in Medicine (CiM) website. (Please contact the Office of Student Affairs if you need a token in order to access the enhanced CiM on-line resources.) Another excellent general resource is the 2012-2013 edition of Strolling Through the Match. In addition to the website resources linked to below, be sure to consult the 4th year Blackboard site for more RAP information and updates.
