Student Society
The J.D. Michaels Physician Assistant Student Society aims to promote the Physician Assistant (PA) profession within the University of Toledo (UT) and throughout the greater Toledo community. Members of this society represent the UT PA program on both the state and national levels. The J.D. Michaels Physician Assistant Student Society is registered as a member of the Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (SAAAPA) and is eligible to participate in the American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) National Medical Challenge Bowl, the AAPA Assembly of Representatives (AOR), and the AAPA House of Delegates (HOD) meetings. Members of the J.D. Michaels Physician Assistant Student Society participate in a number of events in the community and on campus, including: National PA Week, The Race for Victory, Hampton on the Trail, and participation in numerous other events.

OAPA Student Professional Conference –Columbus, Ohio
- All of the UT PA Students attended the 2012 Ohio Association of Physician Assistants Student Professional Development Conference in Columbus, Ohio. The UT PA Medical Challenge Bowl team competed in the PA Student Medical Challenge Bowl.
Patch Ceremony
- Patch Ceremony -The 1st year SAAAPA members will present the UT PA Student Patch to
the 2nd year PA students prior to the beginning of their Clinical Year. Congratulations
on completing your didactic year, and entering your clinical year!

May 2012:
AAPA National Conference in Toronto, Canada
- Medical Challenge Bowl team tied for 2nd place at the National Medical Challenge Bowl competition. Congratulations to the 2012 team! Check out their challengers.

Fun fact: I moved to Ohio, to New Mexico, then to Rhode Island…only to settle back home in Toledo to attend PA school!

Fun fact: I love ground black pepper, I am afraid of heights (and RODENTS!), and my picture has been in the Cayman Island newspaper

Previous Education/Training: Westminster College (in Fulton, Missouri), majored in Biomedical Psychology, EMT-Basic, Firefigher II, HAZMAT-Oops
Fun fact: I grew up on a cattle form in the Missouri Ozarks
If you had to live in a different country, where would it be? United Kingdom or Switzerland

Previous Education/Training: The Pennsylvania State University, Kinesiology major (focus was movement science) minor in health policy administration
Fun fact: I have lived in NY my whole life, been to 7 countries and more than 30 different states

Secretary: Alisha Hall
Previous Education/Training: University of Michigan, Women’s Studies focus in Gender and Health, Pre-med minor
Fun fact: I love carving pumpkins and singing. I also recently got married!
If you had to live in a different country, where would it be? England so that I could cheaply and easily travel all over Europe! And Australia because I loved it there.
