Student Physical Therapy Organization

The students within the Department of Physical Therapy organize and oversee the Student Physical Therapy Organization (SPTO). The purpose of SPTO is:

• to further the growth of students into the profession of physical therapy
• to support the physical therapy curriculum at the University of Toledo
• to create, promote, and build friendships based on the common interests of the physical therapy students
• to provide other student with adequate information on the education preparation, career options, and employment opportunities offered by the physical therapy profession
• to present the profession of physical therapy, and the UT Department of Physical Therapy, to other student professional organizations and the community to provide service to the community

12th Annual Brighten-a-Face race 5k run/walk
We are having our 12th Annual Brighten-a-Face race 5k run/walk on Saturday April 10th at 10:30 a.m. at the Swan Creek Preserve Metropark. All the funds raised by this race will go to The Ability Center of Greater Toledo.  A registration form, flier, and a liability release form are all located at the links below. You can pre-register and mail in your forms and payment. However, don’t worry because registration forms will still be available on the morning of the race! Any remaining t-shirts will be available on a first come first serve basis.

SPTO is a dynamic, active group that adds to the richness of the PT student experience. Recently, students attended the American Physical Therapy Association's national student conclave where they met other PT students from all over the country, as well as a number of prominent leaders within the profession. Students also recently attended the Ohio Physical Therapy Association's conclave in Columbus where they reported on their research projects.
