Health Science Campus Soccer Club
Constitution
Google group: Join for notifications about pick-up games at Manning Field/Schneider Field/Morse Center (winter), and about opportunities for joining organized local soccer leagues.
Mission Statement
The aim of Soccer Club is to promote a physically and mentally healthy atmosphere
for students in the University of Toledo Health Science Campus by providing an outlet
for exercise and stress-relief, incorporating campus-wide open educational events
related to health and exercise.
Purpose
The Soccer Club is an organization open to all students in the Health Science Campus
interested in playing a weekly soccer match throughout the year to help maintain a
healthy and active lifestyle while in school. The primary objective will be to organize
and facilitate casual weekly soccer matches in which anyone in the Health Science
Campus may participate – Wednesdays at 5:30pm on the Health Science Campus front lawn
on fair-weather days, and Wednesdays at 7:00pm in the Morse Center otherwise.
Manning Field
During the warm weather months, there are pick-up games at Manning Field on Wednesdays at 5:30pm. More up to date information is available by joining the
Google group. The field was dedicated to longtime UT Health Science Campus Soccer club benefactor
Dr. Maurice Manning for his contributions as sponsor, faculty preceptor, and player. Dr. Manning has
been involved in soccer on the Health Science Campus for at least the last 30 years
and has been on faculty at UT (formerly MCO) since 1969. He is well known to many
UT medical students for teaching biochemistry, specifically the Krebs Cycle with his
rendition of "Waltz Around the Cycle."
