In honor of Asian Pacific American Heritage Month, OMSS is showcasing two art exhibitions: The Far East at Home: The Chinese Association of Greater Toledo Art Exhibition and Visiting China: Photographs by Agnes L. Barnes.
In The Far East at Home: The Chinese Association of Greater Toledo Art Exhibition, the creations of local Chinese artists are featured in a show organized by the Chinese Association Greater Toledo (CAGT). The CAGT showcases the diverse and appealing works of art created by fifteen local Chinese artists. Established in 1965, CAGT has worked diligently to promote Chinese culture in Northwest Ohio and Southeast Michigan and plays a vital role in enriching our region with China’s cultural traditions.
In Visiting China: Photographs by Agnes L. Barnes, photographs taken during a visit to China in October 2006, Agnes was able to photograph the Great Wall and the Terra Cotta Warriors of the Qin Dynasty, along with other striking Chinese landmarks. Many viewers of her work have commented that to look through her selection of photographs is like taking a vacation yourself. |
