High School Outreach Initiatives Office
High School Outreach Initiatives Office is for high school students looking to get a head start on college classes while still
in high school. Programs include Post Secondary Enrollment Options and Dual Enrollment.
Office of Excellence
The Office of Excellence is a hub of academic activities and services that reach from
an access program beginning in the 8th grade through a high school graduation program
and beyond. These programs include: TOLEDO EXCEL, Upward Bound, TRIO- Student Support
Services and the Annual Conference for Aspiring Minority Youth.
Toledo Excel
EXCEL involves students in pre-college academic programs in order to increase their self-esteem,
cultural awareness of diversity, and civic involvement and responsibility.
Upward Bound
Upward Bound is a federally funded college access program designed to assist low-income and potential
first generation college students who are currently in high school to enter college
at the completion of high school.
TRIO
TRIO-Student Support Services goal provides an environment that encourages excellence,
supports success and fosters involvement. Services include orientation and study-skills
courses, multicultural social events, individual academic advising, tutoring, and
career and social adjustment counseling, as well as helping students to utilize existing
university services. Eligibility is based one of three areas: First-Generation Eligible,
Disability Eligible or Low Income Eligible.

The University of Toledo has many testing services for the convenience of its students and the community. The Test Centers provides
the following services and others:
