The University of Toledo encourages student engagement and is committed to fostering academic and personal growth through common interests and affiliations such as learning communities and student organizations. In an effort to support the academic journey and enhance peer connections The University is launching the UT FacebookApp.

The UT FacebookApp is a great way to connect students, join learning communities, explore new affiliations, and discover new interests. Once a student adds the FacebookApp to his/her Facebook profile, it will ask the user a few questions and permission to include his/her profile picture.  After this simple process is complete, the user receives suggestions on groups to join based on various common interests, residence, and affiliations, i.e. major, with The University.

Facebook Pages are designed to disseminate information to a wider audience, as a marketing channel much like a school's website. On the other hand, UT FacebookApp is a Facebook application designed to build student communities that drive academic engagement and social networks. The UT FacebookApp can also benefit current UT students who are also welcome to add the application.
