Buildings & Landscapes
As a signatory of the ACUPCC, UT follows green building standards during all major renovation or new construction projects. Our building specifications instruct the architects and engineers that we hire to design and renovate our buildings using energy efficient techniques, materials, and operation sequence. When feasible, UT completes construction projects to LEED building standards. Visit here for a list of UT LEED buildings.
Alongside construction, UT sees the value in providing green spaces for students, faculty, and staff to relax and recreate. Green spaces can be found across all three campuses. One special green space is a green roof located on Stranahan North on Main Campus which is not only valued for its aesthetic qualities, but also for heating/cooling retention and storm water management.
