Cosmetic Science / Pharmaceutics

Cosmetics, personal care products and skin delivery

  • Topical drug delivery and product development using the Formulation for EfficacyTM Software
    • Goals: to formulate aesthetically appealing products and achieve better delivery of active ingredients through the skin and, as a result improve patient compliance
  • Emulsification and emulsion stabilization techniques
    • Goals: to formulate cosmetically appealing and stable lotions and creams using various techniques
  • Sensory testing of products
    • Goals: to measure, evaluate and interpret products properties that are perceived by our senses, such as spreadability, rub-out, pick-up and skin feel among others
  • Quality testing of products
    • Goals: to measure, evaluate and interpret quality properties of products, such as viscosity, pH and appearance among others
  • Stability testing of products
    • Goals: to measure, evaluate and interpret as well as predict product stability under normal and extreme environmental conditions

Pharmaceutics

  • Oral drug delivery and product development
    • Goals: to formulate oral solid dosage forms, primarily tablets with immediate-release (such as ODTs) and/or sustained-release; to achieve better delivery of active ingredients and improve patient compliance; to measure, evaluate and interpret product properties and performance

    • Goals: to measure, evaluate and interpret quality properties of products, such as hardness, friability, disintegration and dissolution among others
  • Stability testing of products
    • Goals: to measure, evaluate and interpret as well as predict product stability under normal and extreme environmental conditions
