Summer Arts Workshops/Events

The University of Toledo School of Visual and Performing Arts will present a number of summer workshops and other events exploring a range of arts genres - from flute to film to art to voice to choral conducting. All visual arts workshops will be held at the UT Center for the Visual Arts, 620 Museum Drive. All music and theatre and film workshops will be held in the Center for Performing Arts on the UT Main Campus. Below is a listing of the events currently scheduled. Flute Camp with Joel Tse and Amy Heritage  |  June 18-22
Flute Camp presenter, Joel Tse works with a camp student/Amy Heritage, 2nd Flute with TSO and instructor at the Toledo Symphony School of Music Toledo Symphony flutists Joel Tse and Amy Heritage will lead classes in all aspects of flute playing and performance.  Morning workshop for beginning flutists.  Daylong programming for high school through advanced flutists.  Chamber and solo performance opportunities, piccolo workshop, flute crafts and more!

Choral Conducting Workshop |  July 24-26

Choral Conducting workshop is July 24-26This comprehensive and immersive choral conducting workshop is intended is designed to serve and educate individuals as conductor, teacher, leader, scholar, performer, and servant. Conductors will engage in sessions covering a wide variety of topics. This year's workshop will allow conductors to choose from either a three day immersion workshop, or a one day workshop. Deadline to register is July 17.

Toledo Summer Big Sing!  |  July 28

Toledo Summer Big Sing is for singers of all types, happens July 28Community singers of all types are encouraged to sign up. One full day of rehearsal ends with a concert in UT's Center for Performing Arts. Led by UT Director of Choral Activities, Dr. Brad Pierson, and Dr. Lisa Wong (Wooster College). The concluding concert is free and open to the public.

Theatre and Film Workshops 

Visual Storytellers Summer Intensive Workshop  |  July 9-20

Visual Storytellers is a filmmaking camp for high school juniors and seniors, July 9-20Visual Storytellers Summer Intensive at the University of Toledo is a two-week filmmaking summer camp for juniors and seniors high school students looking to grow their video-making skills. The overall mission of Visual Storytellers is to inspire teenagers to find their creative voices through hands-on workshops in storytelling and filmmaking techniques.

ART Summer Camps  |  august 6-10  

Elementary/Middle school Students  |  Wizard Camp (AM) / Art Around the World (PM)

Kids participating in an art workshop at UTThere will be two workshops available, one in the morning (9 a.m. to Noon) and another in the afternoon (1-4 p.m.). Each of the workshops in the children’s camp will be divided into two parts by age – ages 7-10 and ages 11-13. The topics will be the same for each, but the pace and complexity will match their age group. There will be a break between the morning and afternoon sessions, with supervision of students who stay for both workshops. Students staying all day are encouraged to bring a lunch and beverage, as lunch is not provided. Each workshop is $60 or $105 for both.
