Dr. Qiang Tu graduated in May 1999. In August of 1998 he accepted a tenure- track faculty position at Montclair State University. In August 2000 he started a tenure-track position at Rochester Institute of Technology. His dissertation, Achieving mass customization through technology applications and absorptive capapcity: A customer-driven framework, was defended in January-February 1999. He won the prestigious Elwood S. Buffa Doctoral Dissertation Competition Award, sponsored by the national Decision Sciences Institute and Irwin/McGraw-Hill.
