Video Conferencing (Meetings and Special Events)
Do you want to make your meeting virtual? Here are your options:
Polycom Only (high-definition video conferencing, must have the Polycom hardware, only two rooms can connect at a time):
- Determine the IP address of the remote location and contact information of the technical
support person at the remote location
- The procedure of setting up and using Polycom varies from room to room. If interested in using Polycom, contact Denis Logan (denis.logan@utoledo.edu) for individual setup
SCOPIA (clients do not need hardware to view presentation, up to four people can connect at once with interaction, multiple people can view without interaction, not high-definition):
- Visit http://vconf.utoledo.edu
- Click the blue link under “participate now” button to install the SCOPIA client plugin
- Go back to http://vconf.utoledo.edu
- Type in any name
- To create a virtual meeting id, type in (6XXXXXXXXXX) where XXXXXXXXXX is your 10-digit
telephone number
- Share the virtual meeting id with your participants so that they know what number
to type in to join the meeting
- Once you login to your meeting, it will ask whether or not you want to setup a password. If you choose to do so, make sure to also share the password with participants
Polycom and Scopia Together (have high-definition video of the presenter and other people can view presentation with or without hardware):
- Determine the IP address of the remote location and contact information of the technical
support person at the remote location
- The procedure of bridging Polycom and Scopia together caries from room to room. If interested in using both, contact Denis Logan (denis.logan@utoledo.edu) for individual setup.
