This learning module will help you get started with converting your CE4.1 course site to Blackboard 9.1.

Learning Objectives: By the time you have finished the instruction in this module, you should be able to:
- Understand the procedure for converting your existing Blackboard CE 4.1 course site to Blackboard 9.1
- Compare the two versions of a course site (CE 4.1 and Bb 9.1)
- Understand the terminology changes
- Identify some of the new features in Bb 9.1
- Know what potential problem areas to check

Itis highly recommended that you apply what you have learned in this tutorial directly in your own Bb 9.1 course
environment.

- Remember to use the "Export/Archive Course" function in the Control Panel to create a backup of
your course site any time that you have made changes that you do not want to risk losing.
- Once you have converted a course site from CE4.1 to Bb9.1, you will need to "clean up" the new
course site. This "clean up" may involve reorganizing materials as well as renaming and
deleting items that you no longer need. You will also want to test out all link to files and external
resources, such as websites.
- Spend some time getting to know the new Bb9.1 user interface as well as its new tools and organizational
features.

Converting your existing course sites CE4.1 to Blackboard 9.1 should be a relatively simple task, but you will
most likely need to spend some time reorganizing the converted materials. There are also many new tools and
options for organizing your materials that we not available in CE4.1.
