UT Paratransit Services
Welcome to the UT Paratransit Services.
Paratransit is a section within Transit Services dedicated to increasing accessibility in the campus area by providing individualized rides to people who require assistance getting around campus. In order to create a pickup schedule, you must first be approved. Student Disability Services determines eligibility for students. Human Resources and Talent Development determines eligibility for faculty and staff. Instructions for eligibility approval are below.
Our paratransit system runs primarily on a fixed weekly schedule that is based around the individual’s daily class or work schedule and on-campus involvement. Along with a fixed weekly schedule, we also arrange one-time pickups to fit a passenger's needs if a class or appointment changes or if something extra comes up. Paratransit pickups are scheduled on a first come, first serve basis. We request at least 24 hours’ notice of any changes or additions to pickups. We do our best to accommodate requests received with less than 24 hours notice, but preference is given to rides scheduled at least 24 hours in advance.
The time that is given for the pick-up is the time that the paratransit vehicle will be there and the time that the passenger must board the vehicle. Schedules are often tight, therefore if there is a pick-up scheduled in the slot following a paratransit ride, the passenger will be given a 5 minute courtesy window after the recorded pick-up time to still board the vehicle. At the end of the 5 minute window, the paratransit vehicle will leave and will return at its earliest convenience. If no ride is scheduled in the next pick-up slot, the courtesy window will be extended to 7 minutes. Student Disability Services
Location: Rocket Hall Room 1820 | Main Campus
- Student Disability Services determines eligibility for this service in the case of students.
- Human Resources and Talent Development determines eligibility for this service in the case of faculty and staff.
- Once it is determined that an individual is eligible, rides are then scheduled through UT Transit Services.

UT Paratransit Services provides service to the campus area. Paratransit service mirrors fixed UT Transit Service Routes during the days and hours that the route is operating.
The established routes of Transit Services can be used by any paratransit passenger. We have several buses with wheelchair lifts on them and will make accommodations if a passenger would like to ride one of those buses on an established route.
