Annual International Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference


Since 2004, The Human Trafficking & Social Justice Conference (formerly known as the International Human Trafficking, Prostitution, and Sex Work Conference) has been bringing together researchers, practitioners, and individuals with lived experience in an effort to lay the groundwork for future collaborative research, advocacy, and program development.

We are preparing for our 14th Annual Human Trafficking and Social Justice Conference!

The Conference's High School Workshop for high school students, teachers, and chaperones will take place on Wednesday, September 20, 2017 from 8:30am - 2:30pm.

The Main Conference will take place on Thursday September 21 and Friday September 22, 2017 from 8:30am - 5:00pm.

Previous conferences


2016 human trafficking conference

With the most attendees to date, the 2016 Conference had a total 1575 attendees over the course of 3 days. 500 high school students, teachers, and chaperons attended the High School Day portion of the conference, and 1075 professionals, survivors, university students, and other individuals attended during the 2 general conference days. There was an increase of international representation and a tremendous amount of human trafficking and social justice education, awareness, and collaboration.

2015 Human Trafficking Conference

Over 3 days, 1200 attendees listened to & engaged with nationally and internationally recognized speakers about human trafficking and social justice issues. This was an increase of 200 participants over last years conference; & the biggest growth was the amount of High School students that we reached jumped from 350 to 500 students.
